Christmas Premier League club manager wishlists

With Christmas swiftly approaching, many Premier League managers will be getting prepared to get involved in some transfer business in the subsequent winter window.

Though as well as potential new recruits in January, the top-flight bosses will be hoping to see plenty of other boosts for the remainder of the current campaign.

So, ahead of the festive period, Coral take a light-hearted look at what each Premier League manager should be asking for Christmas at the midway point of the season. Read on for our Christmas Premier League club manager wishlists!

Ronald Koeman (Everton)

Despite a bright start to the season under the guidance of Dutchman Koeman, Everton have been struggling towards the midway stage and their under-pressure boss will be keen oversee a swift turnaround during the winter period.

The former Southampton manager will be putting down a beneficial winning run on his wishlist this year, while that may also come alongside a goal surge from star striker Romelu Lukaku, as they attempt to get out of this rut. Koeman’s Toffees are 11/2 to record a top six finish this season.

Mike Phelan (Hull City)

After being named Hull City boss permanently following some impressive results, Phelan will be hoping for his Tigers to enter some form across the Christmas period.

On the former Manchester United assistant coach’s wishlist will no doubt be three points from some of their upcoming crucial clashes. Meanwhile, a clean sheet could also be a boost, having not kept one since August in the Premier League.

Claudio Ranieri (Leicester City)

Following one of the biggest shocks in sporting history last term, Ranieri’s Leicester City were always going to face an uphill task this current campaign.

The Foxes sit in the bottom half of the table after domestic struggles, but have looked strong in the Champions League. With problems mainly coming on the road, Ranieri’s wishlist will likely feature an away win, as they continue to stutter on their travels.

Jurgen Klopp (Liverpool)

Liverpool have been one of the in-form sides so far this term, with their dynamic attackers having been blasting teams away in recent outings.

Although, they have suffered some blips in their race for the title. German tactician Klopp will therefore be wishing for Chelsea to finally slip up in the coming weeks, while he will also hope to see no further injuries to key players.

Pep Guardiola (Manchester City)

The start that Manchester City had this season under Guardiola looked likely of continuing throughout the campaign, but the Spaniard has struggled to successfully implement his style in the top-flight.

With defensive problems occurring and costing them dearly, the former Barcelona coach will be hoping to secure the signing of a new goalkeeper in January, with Kasper Schmeichel being linked in the back pages after Claudio Bravo’s failings.
