Coral's Cheltenham Festival 2025 tips for day two's races

Day Two of the Cheltenham Festival 2025 continues with another packed schedule, featuring high-class contests like the Queen Mother Champion Chase.

Here are Coral's picks for the day, mixing strong selections with value bets.

Final Demand (6/4) is the clear standout for the Novices' Hurdle, having looked dominant in Ireland this season. However, The New Lion (15/8) has shown plenty of class and shouldn’t be overlooked. For those eyeing an each-way option, The Yellow Clay (5/1) could be the one to sneak into the places.

Onto the Novices' Chase, hard to oppose Ballyburn (8/11), who has looked exceptional over fences. But Dancing City (5/1) is improving and could challenge if the favourite underperforms. If you’re after a long shot, Better Days Ahead (13/2) might offer each-way value.

The Coral Cup Handicap Hurdle race is always unpredictable, but Bunting (5/1) has been well-supported in the market and has a strong chance. Be Aware (9/2) has been steadily backed and should be in the mix, while Impose Toi (8/1) could be a solid each-way play in this big field.

The battle at the top of the market for the Cross Country Chase sees Stumptown (11/4) looking to continue his strong form, but Galvin (7/2) has the class and experience to get the job done. Busselton (6/1) has shown plenty of ability over these fences and could be the value pick.

Jonbon (10/11) has been electric this season and will be tough to beat in the Champion Chase. That said, Marine Nationale (9/2) could pose a serious threat if conditions suit, and Solness (7/1) is an intriguing each-way play for those looking beyond the obvious contenders.

Defending Grand Annual Chase champion Unexpected Party (11/2) is back for more and has been trained specifically for this race. JPR One (10/1) brings strong form into the contest and could be a real contender, while Jazzy Matty (7/1) is another each-way player to consider.

Willie Mullins holds the key here, with Copacabana (11/4) leading the market. Gameofinches (4/1) has been quietly impressive and could be the stable’s real star. Meanwhile, Aqua Force (12/1) has been tipped as an outsider who could surprise.
