Coral presents its live Cheltenham Festival 2024 results coverage, with live updates from day one’s races on Champion Day.
Sky Bet Supreme Novices’ Hurdle Race – 1:30pm
The day kicked off at 1:30pm with the Sky Bet Supreme Novices’ Hurdle Race, which was won by Slade Steel (7/2), who was ridden by Rachael Blackmore and trained by Henry De Bromhead.
Mystical Power (10/3) and Firefox (11/2) made up the rest of the podium places. Somewhat surprisingly, Tullyhill, who was pegged as the favourite by many, failed to place at all.

My Pension Expert Arkle Challenge Trophy Steeple Chase – 2:10pm
Proceedings continued 40 minutes later with the Arkle Challenge Trophy Steeple Chase, which was won by Gaelic Warrior (2/1), who was ridden by the esteemed Paul Townend and trained by the legendary Willie Mullins.
Found A Fifty (13/2) came in second place, whilst Il Etait Temps (7/2) took the final podium place and finished the second race of the day in third.

Ultima Handicap Steeple Chase – 2:50pm
The third race of the day saw Chianti Classico win the Ultimate Handicap Steeple Chase at 2:50pm. The horse, trained by Kim Bailey and ridden by David Bass, was priced at 6/1 going into the race.
Taking second place was Twig (28/1), whilst Meetingofthewaters (6/1), another horse trained by Willie Mullins, finished in third.

Unibet Champion Hurdle Challenge Trophy – 3:30pm
Next up on the docket was the Champion Hurdle, which ended up being one by the clear favourite, State Man, ridden by Paul Townend and trained by Willie Mullins, who went into the day at just 2/5.
Irish Point (9/2) and Luccia (33/1) finished in second and third respectively, drawing a conclusion to the fourth race of the day.

Close Brothers Mares’ Hurdle Race – 4:10pm
The Close Brothers Mares’ Hurdle Race followed the Champion Hurdle Challenge at 4:10pm, with Lossiemouth (8/13) the favourite with the bookies going in.
It was Lossiemouth, ridden by Paul Townend once again and trained by Willie Mullins, who won. Telmesomethinggirl (22/1) and Hispanic Moon (40/1) finished in second and third respectively.

Boodles Juvenile Handicap Hurdle Race – 4:50pm
Up next was the Juvenile Handicap Hurdle Race, taking place at 4:50pm, which was won by Lark In The Mornin (9/1), ridden by J J Slevin and trained by Joseph Patrick O’Brien.
Eagles Reign (80/1) surprisingly came in second, whilst Ndawi (12/1) took the final podium place and finished in third place.

Maureen Mullins National Hunt Novices’ Chase – 5:30pm
We finished things off with the Novices’ Chase, taking place at 5:30pm, which was won by Corbetts Cross (15/8). The horse was ridden on the day by Derek O’Connor, and trained by Emmet Mullins.
Embassy Gardens (7/4) came in second, whilst it was Mr Vango (14/1) who took the final podium spot and finished the race in third.
