The 2016 Cheltenham Festival got off to a ferocious beginning on Champion Hurdle day with some top-class horse racing action. Here’re the best Tweets and videos.
Pre-race second-favourite Altior (4/1) won the Supreme Novices’ Hurdle to get the 2016 Festival off to a winning start for Nicky Henderson ahead of the more-fancied Willie Mullins-trained Min (15/8).

After falling in the Mares’ Hurdle while leading at the last in 2015, to the despair of many, 5/2 favourite Annie Power smashed home to land the Champion Hurdle – setting a new course record along the way.
It's third time lucky for Annie Power at #TheFestival who jumped brilliantly to win the Champion Hurdle https://t.co/swMxEyY4WQ
