Our traders have placed Chelsea as their 15/8 favourites to win the Europa League, with the tournament beginning to look like the Blues biggest chance of qualifying for next season’s Champions League.
Napoli (4/1) and Arsenal (5/1) come next in the betting, with the Italian side odds on at 8/11 to progress from the tie between the two.
“Chelsea have dropped five points from winnable games over the last week and with some tricky fixtures to go it’s now looking like the Europa League or bust for their Champions League hopes,” said Coral’s Harry Aitkenhead.
With a favourable quarter-final draw, against 33/1 outsiders Slavia Prague, they are the clear favourites in our book and we think they have it in their hands to go all the way,” added Aitkenhead.
Chelsea are now the outsiders in the betting to finish in the top four though after a 2-0 loss at Everton.
Tottenham (4/9) and Arsenal (4/7) odds-on to grab the two spots behind Manchester City and Liverpool.
Manchester United can be backed at 5/4, with Chelsea out at 2/1.
“Arsenal have all of a sudden gone odds on for a top four finish and our betting now suggests it’s going to be Manchester United and Chelsea who miss out. There’s some big games coming up after the international break and it’s going to be make or break for the two sides sitting outside the top four at the moment,” added Aitkenhead.
