Championship tips for the matchweek 19
Two Championship clubs return from the EFL Cup with their heads held up, despite exiting in the quarter-finals, as Leeds United and Newcastle United made a great account of themselves against respective Premier League opposition Liverpool and Hull City.
The duo also take to the TV screens this matchweek 19, with the Whites hosting Aston Villa on Saturday evening and the Magpies travelling to Nottingham Forest on Friday.
QPR v Wolverhampton is the other live game on Thursday, while we’ve also taken odds from two Wars of Roses rumbles as Sheffield Wednesday entertain Preston North End and Blackburn Rovers welcome Huddersfield Town.

QPR and Wolves to share spoils
Live at 19:45 GMT on Thursday, Sky Sports 1

Both the Hoops and Wolves come into this clash in shaky form, and have recently appointed managers Ian Holloway and Paul Lambert respectively in a bid to give them a much needed kick.
The Midlands outfit sit precariously just above the drop zone on goal difference with QPR only five points ahead.
Wolves have drawn two of their last four in the league, though, and this fixture at Loftus Road last season also ended in 1-1 result. So, back the duo to share the spoils once more at 9/4.
Toon to beat Forest with both teams scoring
Live at 19:45 GMT on Friday, Sky Sports 1
After winning a remarkable eight games in the league on the trot, Newcastle were shocked by relegation battlers Blackburn last weekend before going down on penalties to Hull in the EFL Cup at the KC Stadium.
Rafael Benitez’s men still top the table by two points, but will be keen to keep that advantage at least and get back to winning ways against Forest, who are way down in 17th but have won their last two.
Newcastle, therefore, are a tempting 12/5 price to triumph with both teams scoring.
Wednesday and Preston to draw

In the first of two Yorkshire-Lancashire Roses battles, the Owls and Lilywhites lock horns in Sheffield in a 3pm Saturday clash.
Preston are one of the in-form teams in the Championship, despite being in 12th and five places behind Wednesday, but are just three points off them.
Another draw beckons as the Owls have won just one of their previous four in the league, so take odds of 13/5 for that outcome.
Blackburn to inflict more misery on Terriers
Huddersfield are in somewhat of a freefall of late, after topping the table earlier in the season, as they’re without a win in their last four – lost three – and hanging onto a play-off place by the skin of their teeth.
Blackburn, on the other hand, are on the up and out of the relegation zone after two successive victories, including against league leaders Newcastle last time out, so back them at 17/10 just to win again at home.
Wood to net last v Villa
Live at 17:30 GMT on Saturday, Sky Sports 1

In the last Championship clash of the weekend, two of England’s most famous and well-supported clubs go head-to-head at Elland Road.
Leeds have shocked many after a relatively slow start to the season, as they now find themselves up in firth place, while Villa have also begun to pick up the pace being just four points off the top six.
The two teams’ last meeting was way back in the Premier League in 2004, so history won’t play much of a part here, but back in-form Whites striker Chris Wood at 11/4 to round off the scoring.
