Gunners to win and over 2.5 goals in the game
Arsenal require Ligue 1 giants PSG to slip up in their final pool fray to Ludogorets Razgrad if they are to snatch that coveted group winner spot and, as unlikely as that may seem, the Londoners will likely send out a strong side to battle Basel just in case.
In the reverse, Arsene Wenger’s men eased to a 2-0 victory but have been in even better scoring form of late, so should be expected to turn the screw against the Swiss side, who still have hope of a Europa League place.
Arsenal thumped five and three respectively past last Premier League opponents West Ham United and Bournemouth, and Alexis Sanchez excelled with five of those eight strikes.
And, there have been 16 goals for and against scored across the Gunners’ previous four games in all competitions, which is an entertaining average of four per clash. So, with so much at stake but Arsenal’s superior quality, back the Emirates outfit to win with over 2.5 goals in the game at 12/5.
Moussa Dembele to score and Celtic to lose
Celtic face the daunting task of a trip to the Etihad, having already been eliminated after losing three matches and drawing two.
Man City, meanwhile, have already qualified for the last 16 and could field a few fringe players and youngsters. But when that can include the likes of Nolito, Leroy Sane and Kelechi Iheanacho, it doesn’t mean the Bhoys will get an easy ride.
The Scottish guests had joy at Parkhead when they managed to score three and pick up a point. But it should be a different story on Mancunian turf.
Celtic marksman Moussa Dembele struck twice against the Sky Blues last time and, after netting 17 across all competitions, the French forward has another chance to impress prospective Premier League suitors. So, Dembele to dispatch and the Bhoys to be beaten is mighty tempting at 5/1.
Bayern and Atleti both to score and under 3.5 goals
Neither Bayern Munich nor Atletico Madrid have been in their best form across the past months, but signs are that both sides are beginning to pick up.
With both titan teams already assured of their advancement, and no chance of Munich overhauling Atleti’s Group D lead, there’s no must-win here.
With that in mind, plus the fact that these two teams will have one eye on being fresh for weekend league wrangles, backing both teams to score and under 3.5 goals at 12/5 looks wise.
Insigne to score and Napoli beat Benfica
It’s very tight at the top of Group B, with only one point between first and third, so expect last match day drama. All three of Napoli, Benfica and Besiktas have proven pretty much evenly matched over the pool stage but only two can progress.
Turkish team Besiktas are lagging behind but face already eliminated Dynamo Kyiv, making Napoli’s match-up with Benfica the one to watch.
The Little Donkeys beat their Portuguese peers in the reverse 4-2 and have received a timely boost just before the game by downing Inter Milan in a dominant 3-0 victory. While, the Eagles enter on the back of a defeat to minnows Maritimo.
Italy international Lorenzo Insigne has been Napoli’s attacking catalyst of late with two goals in as many of his last outings for the Campania club, so odds of 9/2 for him to net and Maurizio Sarri’s side to win are tempting.
