Madrid stats make sense

Leverkusen were responsible for shoving Tottenham into the Europa League, grabbing second behind Monaco. There were very few convincing moments in Group D however, and the Germans ended with a record of two wins and four draws. They are also down in eighth-place in the Bundesliga.

Atletico were much more convincing when topping Group D ahead of Bayern Munich. They put forward a run of five wins and just one defeat, with that spare coming in the last match when the group had already been won. In La Liga they are unbeaten in over two months, winning six and drawing two during that purple patch. Their form is more impressive and they are taken to get their noses in front at 27/20 with Coral.

Goals at the Etihad

City finished an unconvincing second behind Barcelona, but far enough ahead of Celtic in third not to lose any sleep over qualification. They also beat the Spanish giants at this venue, winning 3-1 back in November. A similar showing here would see them put one foot in the next round.

Both teams scored in four of The Citizen’s six Champions League starts, while the same is true of Monaco, including a 2-1 win at White Hart Lane. Both will fancy their chances of getting the win here, and clicking yes in the both teams to score coupon pays 4/6.

Plenty of life in The Old Lady

One for the football purists out there as two of European football’s most in-form teams put their reputations on the line. Juve are unbeaten so far – four wins and two draws – and have taken up their usual position dominating Serie A, sitting seven points ahead of Roma.

Porto slipped to second in the Portuguese Primeira Liga, but are in winning form. The Old Lady’s domestic results count for more however, and with the locals losing to Leicester City in the group stages, and failing to win half of their six matches there, the away win will do us at 6/5.

Sevilla to reign in Spain

Lastly, it’s the game British football fans have been looking forward to. Can Leicester continue their European fairy-tale, and can they leave their league worries at the airport? We really don’t think so. Ranieri’s side have come in for no end of criticism of late, slipping to within a point of the relegation zone.

Size that up against Sevilla, who are third in La Liga, just three points off leaders Real Madrid. They remain the only side to have beaten Zidane’s boys this season and, on their own patch, this looks a bridge too far for the English club. Sevilla to win is 4/11, but we’d have them -1 on the handicap at 21/20.
