Catterick preview: Tomorrow’s Legend poised to open account

Tomorrow’s Legend has posted solid efforts to finish runner-up in his last two starts and can go on better to gain a deserved success in the 2m handicap chase on today’s card at Catterick (14.50).
The gelding, who hails from the in-form yard of Gary Moore, was a useful hurdler who has quickly made up into a better chaser.
After finishing a fine second to the well-treated Throthehatch at Kelso, Tomorrow’s Legend ran a blinder when chasing home Retrieve The Stick over 2m 1f at Sedgefield last time out.
The five-year-old looked all over the winner in the latter when leading at the last but faded late on to be beaten just two lengths.
It was an effort which suggested Tomorrow’s Legend was ahead of his current mark, and with the drop back in trip is sure to suit.
With underfoot conditions fine, and Joe Coliver in the saddle taking off a valuable 3lb with his claim, this looks a golden opportunity for the son of Tomorrow’s Legend to open his account.
Foot The Bill can do just that for punters
In the 3m 1f handicap hurdle (14.20), Foot The Bill can cash-in on a career low mark to land the spoils.
The Patrick Holmes trained gelding was last successful over the smaller obstacles when landing a handicap at Kelso back in September 2014 off a mark of 90, and after a series of solid efforts to make the frame resumed winning ways when landing a 3m 1f handicap chase at this venue 12 months ago by 30 lengths off a rating of 94.
Foot The Bill has failed to trouble the judge in five subsequent outings over fences, but is able to race off a reduced mark of 89 now switched back to hurdling.
It gives the 10-year-old major claims from a handicapping perspective in what is a weak looking class 4 contest, and Foot The Bill is entitled to strip much fitter for his recent return to action.
The son of Genreous also receives weight form all his rivals, and with Brian Harding in the saddle everything points to a huge run.
