Catterick and Salisbury previews: Dynamic Drive weighted to deliver

Dynamic Drive can collect at Catterick
Dynamic Drive can cash-in on what looks a handy mark to land the extended 1m 7f handicap on today’s card at Catterrick (16.45).
The gelding was last successful on the level back in 2010 off a mark of 80 and is now able to race off a basement rating of just 49.
That makes the Maurice Barnes trained nine-year-old potentially thorwn-in at the weights, especially as he has shown improved form over hurdles to win three times in the last 10 months.
In the last of those successes in June, Dynamic Drive scored by five lengths at Hexham off a mark of 122.
If able to translate that level of form back to the flat the son of Motivator is going to be very tough to beat.
Dynamic Drive also has winning form on the ground and, with Paul Mulrennan in the saddle, looks to have been well placed by his handler to exploit his lowly flat rating.
Lots to like about Lizzy’s Dream
Lizzy’s Dream was a big eye-catcher last time out and looks decent value to get back to winning ways in the 5f handicap (15.15).
The Rebecca Bastiman trained gelding was in good form in the early part of the year when winning back-to-back handicaps at Kempton and has gone on to post some solid efforts on the turf, including when a neck runner-up at Musselburgh off a mark of 53.
Lizzy’s Dream also ran well on his penultimate start at Chepstow when third and looked unlucky not to finish closer at Musselburgh 14 days ago, when constantly denied a clear run and eventually being beaten just 2 1/4 lengths into fifth behind Under Approval.
The eight-year-old now meets that rival on 3lb better terms and that should be more than enough to turn the tables given how the race panned out.
Lizzy’s Dream is also able to race off an unchanged mark of 51 and that is just 3lb higher than when last victorious and gives the son of Choisir every chance from a handicapping perspective.

Deepsand can sick Salisbury rivals
Deepsand will appreciate the rain that has hit Salisbury and looks the answer to the 1m 6f handicap that brings proceedings to a close on today’s seven-race card (17.30).
The gelding had some fair form to his name when trained by Tim Easterby with his last success coming in a class 4 contest at Musselburgh back in September 2014 off a mark of 74.
Now in the care of Ali Brewer, Deepsand is able to race off a mark of 60 and drops into class 6 company for the first time in his career.
The seven-year-old also showed that he retained enough ability to win a race of this nature when making the frame on his first two outings this season off 65 and 64.
Although not at his best in two subsequent outings, the soft ground is now massively in Deepsand’s favour and this represents by far the easiest task he has faced for some time.
Boy In The Bar tough to beat
Boy In The Bar has become dangerously well-treated and looks to hold outstanding claims of landing the 6f handicap (15.00).
The gelding developed into a useful sprinter in 2014 when trained by Richard Fahey, winning twice before finishing an excellent 3/4 length third to Eastern Impact in a hot class 2 handicap at Newmarket off a mark of 90.
Boy in The Bar also ran a blinder to finish second of 17 to Algar Lad in a similar grade affair at York 14 months ago when keeping on well to be beaten just 1 1/4 lengths.
Now in the care of the shrewd Ian Williams, the five-year-old is able to race in this lower grade class 5 contest off a rating of 75.
That is a career-low and gives Boy In The Bar major claims at the weights on the pick of his form.
