Superior Command and Parish Business among tips for Carlisle and Kempton

Superior Command can collect at Carlisle for in-form Lucinda
Trainer Lucinda Russell has struck form with a vengeance and Superior Command looks decent value to provide her with another winner in the 2m 4f handicap chase on today’s card at Carlisle (15.25).
The Scottish-based handler has saddled four winners from her last eight runners and in Superior Command has a lightly-raced and unexposed sort who did well in his first season over fences.
After scoring in good style on chase debut at Kelso when only having to be driven out to score by 1 1/4 lengths the seven-year-old ran a blinder at the same venue when a 2 3/4 length runner-up to Lowandbehold off 4lb higher.
Superior Command allowed the winner first run in the latter before staying on strongly to thrown down a determined challenge approaching the last.
Given how the race panned out it was an excellent effort and the pair pulled 60 lengths clear of the third home to give the form a solid look.
The handicapper appears to have been kind in putting Superior Command up just 2lb to a mark of 113, especially as he looks the type who should have plenty more to offer.
Briery Belle has plenty going for her
Briery Belle showed progressive form throughout last season and can make a winning debut over the larger obstacles in the 2m 4f novices’ chase (13.45).
The Henry Daley trained mare finished a fine second to the highly regarded The Organist at Doncaster before rounding off the campaign with a three length success in competitive 13-runner Listed handicap hurdle at Cheltenham.
That victory represented a career-best for the seven-year-old and Briery Belle has the size and scope to make up into just as good a chaser.
The daughter of King’s Theatre also receives a handy 7lb sex allowance from her four male rivals and with the stable also in good form, and Tom O’Brien in the saddle, she can make the most of it to take this en route to even better things.

Parish to do the Business at Kempton
Parish Business scored in terrific style last time out and can make light of a rise in the weights to follow-up in the 2m 5f handicap hurdle on today’s card at Kempton (15.05).
The Emma Lavelle trained gelding left some disappointing efforts behind when easily beating Board Of Trade by nine lengths at Fontwell.
Parish Business won with any amount in hand and although now 8lb higher in the weights the eight-year-old remains well-treated off a revised rating of 128.
The son of Fruits Of Love had some very smart form to his name earlier in his career, including when runner-up in a Grade 2 contest at Ascot off an official rating of 130 and fourth to Blaklion in a similar grade affair at Cheltenham off 138.
Those efforts suggest that Parish Business is potentially ahead of his current mark and the one to beat if turning up in the same mood as when scoring last month.
Barney Dwan the one to be on
Barney Dwan makes his eagerly awaited debut over fences in the 3m novices’ chase (14.30) and is strongly fancied to make it a winning one.
Trained by Fergal O’Brien, the six-year-old showed progressive form over hurdles last season when winning three of his six starts.
In the last of those Barney Dwan easily beat Potters Legend by four lengths in a competitive 18-runner Grade 3 handicap at Sandown.
Although the selection was receiving 6lb from the runner-up it was hard not to be impressed by the manner in which he got the job done.
Barney Dwan now takes on Potters Legend at level weights but he is a strapping sort who has the scope to make up into an even better chaser than a hurdler.
Another plus is that the stable is in good form and Barney Dwan is an exciting recruit to the chasing ranks and one to follow this season.
