This weekend’s Carabao Cup final between Liverpool and Chelsea is the fixture for Coral’s free-to-play Football Super Series game, where Coral customers predict match stats for the chance to win free bets, cash prizes and a share of a monthly £25k jackpot.

Last weekend saw Manchester United’s 4-2 victory against Leeds end with a blaze of yellow cards which saw 18,141 Coral customers win a prize, over 20% of entrants.

Who will win the match?

Liverpool by Exactly 1 Goal – Just one of Liverpool’s last 20 games in the EFL Cup have ended with the Reds winning by a one-goal margin, a 2-1 victory over Tottenham in the fourth round in October 2016.

Liverpool by 2+ Goals – 24 of Liverpool’s 30 wins in all competitions this season have been by a two-goal margin or greater, including 10 of the last 11.

Chelsea by Exactly 1 Goal – This will be the second time Chelsea and Liverpool have met in the League Cup final with Chelsea winning the 2005 showcase by a single goal (3-2) courtesy of extra time goals from Didier Drogba and Mateja Kežman.

Four of Chelsea’s last five games in all competitions have been won by a one-goal margin (other was a 2-0 win over Lille in the UCL), as many as in their previous 25 games in all competitions.

Chelsea by 2+ Goals – Chelsea have won just two of their last 34 cup finals in all competitions by 2+ goals (incl. Community Shield, FIFA Club World Cup & UEFA Super Cup), although one of those was in this competition in March 2015 against Tottenham (2-0), with the other being against Arsenal in the 2018-19 UEFA Europa League final (4-1).

Draw – 11 of the last 25 games in all competitions between Chelsea and Liverpool have been drawn (44%) including their two Premier League meetings this season, with the Blues recording eight wins (32%) and six for the Reds (24%).

Who will score the first goal?

Mohamed Salah (LIV) or Virgil van Dijk (LIV) – Salah is yet to score in the EFL Cup in four previous appearances in the competition (2 each for Liverpool and Chelsea), but has scored in each of his last two appearances against the Blues, as many as in his first 11 against them for Liverpool.

Romelu Lukaku (CHE) or Mason Mount (CHE) – No player has scored more goals for Chelsea since Thomas Tuchel’s appointment than Mount (13 – level with Jorginho), although he hasn’t scored in his last 13 appearances for the Blues in all competitions.

Sadio Mane (LIV) or Diogo Jota (LIV) – Since the start of last season, no player has scored the opening goal in more Premier League games than Mane (11).

Jorginho (CHE) or Kai Havertz (CHE) – Havertz has scored five goals in just three League Cup appearances for the Blues, only in the Premier League (6 goals in 44 games) has he scored more goals for them in a single competition, while the German scored the opener in the 1-1 draw at Anfield earlier this season. Indeed, 13 of his 16 goals for Chelsea have been scored in London.

Anyone else or Own Goal – The last own goal scored in meetings between Chelsea and Liverpool came back in May 2012 in the Premier League, with Michael Essien putting through his own net at Anfield.

No Goalscorer – Just one of the last 12 EFL Cup finals has ended goalless, although that final did involve Chelsea when they were beaten by Manchester City 4-3 on penalties in 2018-19.

How many corners will there be?

8-10 – Since Jurgen Klopp’s appointment, Liverpool have faced Chelsea 17 times in all competitions with the Reds taking 109 corners and the Blues 62, an average of 10 per game.

How many players to be carded?

2-3 – Since Klopp has been in the Anfield dugout, Liverpool have faced Chelsea 17 times in all competitions with the Reds earning 30 cards (all yellow) and the Blues 20 (18 yellow, 2 red), an average of three per game.
