Can Cristiano Ronaldo keep his Serie A scoring run going against Inter?

Cristiano Ronaldo - Juventus

He’s scored in a record-equalling 11 consecutive league games

Age doesn’t seem to be slowing Cristiano Ronaldo down –the Juventus superstar still continues to post incredible numbers.

His strike against SPAL last weekend saw him equal GabrielBatistuta and Fabio Quagliarella’s record of scoring in 11 consecutive Serie Agames.

The five-time Ballon d’Or winner now has the chance to breakthe record and stand alone if he scores in Juventus’ next game. It’s a huge fixturetoo – the Old Lady face title rivals Inter Milan at the Allianz Stadium onSunday.

We make the hosts 23/20 favourites – but will Ronaldo hit the back of the net yet again?

Ronaldo goalscoring odds

Ours odds suggest Ronaldo will find a way to score yet again – he’s 13/5 to score the opening goal or Evens to net anytime.

He’s also scored two goals in both his last two home league appearances. We go 9/2 for Ronaldo to score two or more goals, while it’s 7/4 that he nets in a Juventus win.

Before Juve’s shock 1-0 defeat to Lyon on Wednesday, Ronaldohad scored in nine consecutive games in all competitions – every other match he’dappeared in during 2020 so far.

He constantly gets into goalscoring positions and is a deadlyfinisher with either foot or his head.

Are Juventus too reliant on him?

However, Ronaldo’s form has been so good that Maurizio Sarri’sside are starting to look dependent on him. The 35-year-old was their only realthreat in Champions League action in midweek.

With the likes of Paolo Dybala, Miralem Pjanic and JuanCuadrado also on the pitch, the Serie A champions’ attacking play should havehad much more variety.

Sarri could mix things up by bringing Aaron Ramsey back into the starting line-up. His other midfield options don’t have the Welshman’s ability to unsettle defences by getting into goalscoring positions. Ramsey’s presence would help Ronaldo to find space in the box too.

Rock-solid Inter

Even if Juventus are at their best, Inter will be very hardto break down. Antonio Conte’s side are always well-drilled. And the Nerazzurricurrently have the best defensive record in Serie A with just 22 goals conceded.

But Juventus know that when you need someone to step up inthe key moments, there are very few players as reliable as their number seven.

With history in his sights, Ronaldo will be determined toget on the scoresheet.
