Brentford host Tottenham Hotspur tonight in the Carabao Cup semi-finals, a game that Jose Mourinho believes is the biggest since he took charge of the North London club.

Spurs have won many plaudits in recent years, without being able to take the next step and win a trophy. There are few managers with a better track record of delivering silverware than Mourinho. There may be some doubts about his style of play, but many Tottenham fans won’t be too concerned if he leads the club to success.
Mourinho has already won this competition four times, three times with Chelsea and once with Manchester United. He’s used success here as a springboard for more glory in the past two – two of his three Premier League title wins came after winning the League Cup.
With Spurs four points off the top with a game in hand, they’re in the title picture this term. Mourinho will believe that a win tonight could set the club up for much more success in the near future.
