Bordeaux, Montpellier and St-Etienne are tres bien French treble

Coral are offering a fabulous 9/2 on treble on victories for French top-flight teams Bordeaux, Montpellier and St-Etienne all to win.

Ligue 1 is about much more than just PSG and Monaco, so back Boreadux to beat Evian (yes, it’s where the bottled water comes from), mid-table Montpellier to leave Sardinian outfit Ajaccio rock bottom and Champions League chasers St-Etienne to win at Bastia.

Bordeaux v Evian
Ligue 1 winners in 2008 Bordeaux have never been beaten by Evian, so are odds-on for a win at 4/6. Les Girondins have picked up almost two-thirds (64.7 per cent) of their points at home this season.

Evian, meanwhile, are only three points above the relegation zone, but do not travel well with just two victories away all campaign. They will fear the worst if Senegal striker Cheick Diabate lines up against them.

Diabate loves scoring in this fixture. He has five goals in the last three meetings, so back him at 5/4 for to score anytime. If Bordeaux need any extra incentive, they must bridge an eight-point gap if they want to play in Europe next term.

Montpellier v Ajaccio
French champions in 2012 Montpellier have suffered one top-flight defeat at home to basement club Ajaccio since 2003. You can bank on that home form again here as they are odds-on at 4/9 for three points.

Rolland Courbis has switched the emphasis to youth at the Stade de la Mosson, and his team will fancy their chances of leaving Ajaccio marooned at the bottom. The Sardinian side are 10 points from safety already and have scored a mere six goals on their travels this term.

Back young talents Remy Cabella, who Newcastle United were linked with during January, and on-loan Mbaye Niang for goals here 11/10 and evens respectively. Cabella is Montpellier’s top scorer with nine in the league, while Niang has hit the ground running with three in six since joining from AC Milan.

Bastia v St-Etienne
Since the turn of the century, St-Etienne have lost to Bastia just once and won five out of eight meetings (62.5 per cent). Les Verts start as 6/5 favourites for victory and – if it’s by a two-goal margin – will move above Lille into the top-three.

Punters should not be put off by Bastia’s strong home record. St-Etienne still have highy-rated man-mountain Kurt Zouma, now on loan from Chelsea, in their defence, which has kept successive clean sheets on the road. Back Les Verts at 29/20 to shut out their hosts and 12/5 to win to nil.
