Bookies open betting on Prince George’s future
Published:On the eve of Prince George’s first birthday, bookmaker Coral has opened betting on the heir to the throne’s future and the odds suggest that he will go to St Andrew’s, study history and join the British army.
It’s 6-1 that Prince George follows in his parents’ footsteps and attends St. Andrews University, while it’s 8-1 that he attends either Oxford or Cambridge. The firm is also betting on what he will study, making history the favourite at 8-1, geography the second favourite at 10-1, and Agricultural Studies an outsider at 20-1.
Britain’s newest royal is even money to join the British army, 10-1 to become an RAF pilot, 33-1 to compete in the Oxford and Cambridge University Boat Race and 50-1 to take after his great grandmother, Her Majesty The Queen, and own a Group One winning race-horse.
“Prince George is just a year old but punters are already placing bets on the future King, and the odds suggest he will follow in his parents’ footsteps and attend St. Andrews,” said Coral’s Nicola McGeady.
