15.00 Ascot – Eden Du Houx

Eden Du Houx was a top-class bumper horse, but things haven’t quite gone to plan this year until Chepstow last time when he scored in a novice hurdle contest.

That was his first run back since wind surgery which looks to have worked well.

I thought that was a good race at Chepstow which he won so it gives us a lot of confidence. He’s been given a fair mark on his handicap debut so he has a good chance of following up.

This horse is my best chance of the day.

16.10 Ascot – Taj Badalandabad

We were pleased with Taj Badalandabad two runs ago at Cheltenham. He was slightly disappointing last time at Huntingdon though. We were hampered badly which obviously did not help.

He will need to bounce back but there is no reason why he will not do that. He is a C&D winner and is down to a mark which gives him a good chance.

16.45 Ascot – Shoot To Frame

Shoot To Fame has plenty of experience having run in a few point-to-points. This will be her first start under rules so we will learn a lot more about her here.

If Ascot is off, I’ll be heading to Haydock where hopefully Ramses De Teillee can keep up his good run. He was really impressive last time at Doncaster and he is such a tough horse.

14.05 Market Rasen – Night Edition

Night Edition has really taken well to hurdling. His good first run at Taunton was improved upon at Cheltenham last time. This looks a decent little race.

Harry Fry’s runner Mind The Clock was rated 91 on the Flat so he has to be respected. Hopefully the experience my horse has can count for a lot.

Let’s hope as much of the racing which is scheduled to take place this weekend survives.
