Coral ambassador previews his Sunday rides at Newbury

Newbury 15.35 – Night Edition

Firstly, it’s great that this important Newbury card has been rescheduled. This is something that the BHA, race courses and sponsors are all very proactive with these days, and it’s a real positive for the sport, not just as Cheltenham prep meetings, but they are big days in their own right.

This big hurdle race is of course ultra-competitive as always, but Night Edition was second in the Boodles at last year’s Cheltenham Festival so a big field will hold no fears for him.

He should improve for his first run of the season at Ascot before Christmas, he just got a little bit tired turning into the straight that day. If he does, he could have an each-way chance here.

Newbury 16.45 – Good Risk At All

This is historically one of the best bumpers of the season, and my fellow has a penalty to carry here for his Cheltenham Listed win in November.

That will make life tougher for him here, but I couldn’t fail to be impressed by that win, he looks a really nice type and he’s a lovely ride to pick up.
