Joe Tizzard: “I think Born In Borris has a cracking chance”

Ascot 13.50 – War Lord
We’ve got four runners in action today, starting with War Lord at Ascot. He’s been really consistent this season, he goes on soft ground as he proved when winning at Haydock, and he’ll love this 2m 3f trip around here.
The handicapper had his say after that Haydock win, but in what is an ultra-competitive race, he’s got a live chance, he certainly seems in lovely form at home.
Taunton 14.10 – Sizing Codelco
We want to get a run into Sizing Codelco, he’s 12-years-old now and he wins his races in the spring, but the handicapper hasn’t really given him much of chance for a while now.
We’d like to just find him a small race where he could pick up some prize money, but the handicapper needs to help him out a bit.
Haydock 14.40 – Lamanver Pippin
Lamanver Pippin was slightly below par last time out, but on his first run of the season – third at Cheltenham – and his third-place finish at the Festival before that, he has a chance here.
He only carries 10-4 here, and on what will be extremely testing ground, that is a huge plus. There won’t be many finishers I’m sure, this fellow jumps and stays, and off a low weight I’ve got a feeling he can run well.
Taunton 16.00 – Born In Borris
This mare is probably our best chance of the day. She ran well to finish third at Exeter last time, the winner has come out and won again since, and this trip will suit her.
She does carry top weight, but I hope that won’t stop her, this looks a lovely race for her and I think she has a cracking chance.
