Coral ambassador previews his rides for the final day of York’s Ebor Festival

York 14.25 – Arthurian Fable

It is a competitive field and my horse has gone up in the weights but Brian Meehan’s horses are running nicely at the moment.

He should improve for the step up in trip so I think he has a solid each-way chance here.

York 15.00 – Beat Le Bon

He is a very nice horse but I have never ridden him before. One Master is obviously the one to beat in this contest.

I think this race could set up nicely for my horse. He is drawn low and I expect him to be thereabouts come the business end of the race.

York 15.40 – Jeremiah

I won on this horse at Ascot two races back. He is a good strong horse. I would not say he does much once he hits the front so you have to time him right.

You can put a line through his last run as they went too slow. We are stepping up in trip again which we are a little unsure about. Hopefully he can pass some horses late on and pick up some decent prize money.

I won the Ebor two years ago on board Muntahaa for John Gosden. We were drawn right on the outside and we stayed straight from the stalls and slotted back as the contest progressed. It’s a great race to win and hopefully I can capture it again.

York 16.40 – Maydanny

He has gone up a lot in the weights but he was a convincing winner last time at Goodwood with a lot of weight on his back. I hope the handicapper has not scuppered his chances.

There could be a lot more to come from this horse still. I’d rate him as my best chance of the day.

Jim Crowley began his flat racing career as an amateur before switching to National Hunt racing, where he landed approximately 300 winners. He then returned to the flat to ride for sister-in-law Amanda Perrett. After years of hard work, Jim was finally rewarded when we won the 2016 Stobart Flat Jockey Championship with an incredible 148 winners. That was followed by a lucrative retained partnership with leading owner Sheikh Hamdan al-Maktoum, for whom he is the no.1 jockey.
