Coral ambassador previews his rides at Newmarket on Friday

Jim rides Ehraz in the 13:15 at Newmarket

I’ve ridden Ehraz at home and he’s quite a nice horse. He’s by Showcasing so I don’t know about the ground as horses by Showcasing often want some juice in the ground. These races are very competitive though so we will find out where we are with him. I’m really looking forward to riding him as we think he’s a good horse.

Jim rides Faylaq in the 15:00 at Newmarket

We’ve always held Faylaq in high regard. He’s been gelded now and that will help him. He still hasn’t fulfilled his potential based on how talented he is and his fantastic breeding. He is by Dubawi out of an Arc winner. So, we just hope he can win a nice race.

Jim rides Lavender Blue in the 15:35 at Newmarket

I was a little bit disappointed with her at Royal Ascot. I thought she would run a bit better. She was on the wing of the field and all the race unfolded away from me. I don’t think I would have won but I think she would have finished a lot closer. She is quite consistent and she’s a Group winner, but things would have to fall her way to win a Group 1. It looks a really hot race. I won it last year with Nazreef and it looks an even better race this year.

Jim Crowley

Jim Crowley began his flat racing career as an amateur before switching to National Hunt racing, where he landed approximately 300 winners. He then returned to the flat to ride for sister-in-law Amanda Perrett. After years of hard work, Jim was finally rewarded when we won the 2016 Stobart Flat Jockey Championship with an incredible 148 winners. That was followed by a lucrative retained partnership with leading owner Sheikh Hamdan al-Maktoum, for whom he is the no.1 jockey.
