Coral ambassador Jim Crowley previews his rides on day two of Craven Meeting at Newmarket

The ITV Racing cameras will be in place at Newmarket on Wednesday and our man Jim Crowley looks ahead to his rides and tells us what he expects from Tawahub in the Nell Gwyn Stakes.

He’s not a bad little horse. He’s won twice on the all-weather this year and he ran really well around Lingfield last time. He seems to like it round there.

But he’s not just an all-weather horse. He ran well at Newmarket last year. Amanda’s horses are in good order. I think he has a really solid each way chance. I think he’ll be placed, whether he’s good enough to win I don’t know. But he’ll run a very good race.

It looks a good Nell Gwyn. Tawahub is a nice filly, still very unexposed as a few of them are. She won well on the all-weather last year. She’s owned by Sheikh Hamdan’s daughter, who had the Lincoln winner recently.

Tawahub has done well over the winter, and is beautifully bred daughter of Kingman. The Gosdens wouldn’t be running her in this unless they believed she was good enough to win it. I’m really looking forward to riding her, and if she wins this then we’ll be looking at a Guineas for her. John Gosden has a good record in this race and we are expecting a big run.

John Gosden introduces a lot of his nice horses on the all-weather. It’s really handy as you know exactly what ground you are going to get. Many of his best horses broke their maidens on the all-weather. Enable won at Newcastle and Jack Hobbs won at Wolverhampton in December. Everyone is doing it now, especially at the back end of the year, if you want to get a run into a two year old, then the all-weather provides a perfect opportunity.

This is a beautiful son of Frankel. He won very well last time at Lingfield. I couldn’t ride him that day but he was impressive. I rode him at the back end of last season at Salisbury and he rode a lovely race then. He’s done extremely well over the winter

He’s stepping up to a mile and a quarter, it was a mile he won over last time, and Frankel’s offspring often improve for going up in trip. He looks a decent horse and one to follow throughout the season.
