Jim Crowley: “I will be disappointed if Minzaal doesn’t win”
Coral ambassador previews Sunday’s rides at Salisbury
Salisbury 12.40 – Minzaal
This is a really nice two-year-old. He ran a lovely race first time up but probably just got stuck in between horses. I would be very disappointed if he doesn’t win this.
Salisbury 14.50 – One Small Step
She’s had the two runs and has got a mark of 84, winning very nicely last time at Yarmouth. This is a small field but it is a competitive little race. She has no weight on her back and hopefully she can run really well.
Salisbury 15.25 – Motakhayyel
He’s stepping up to Group company but he’s earned the right to after two big wins this season. He’s won the Buckingham Palace Stakes and the Bunbury Cup in great style, and he’s now rated 112.
There are some good horses in here, the likes of Duke of Hazzard and Regal Reality set a decent standard, but hopefully my horse can make the jump from handicap company to Group race company.
Salisbury 16.00 – Cloud Drift
This is a lovely ride to pick up. It’s always nice to ride for The Queen. He won nicely at Leicester last time. He’s top weight and it’s a tricky race but hopefully he can run well again.
Salisbury 16.35 – Escape The City
This is another horse I haven’t ridden before. He has bits and bobs of form but is only rated 68. He hasn’t really shown much in his last two runs but he did win at Brighton last term over 10f so hopefully he can bounce back to that form.
He has won off higher marks and was once rated in the 80s, so he is definitely handicapped to win again.
Salisbury 17.05 – Percy’s Prince
He’s been running okay. It’s not a strong race. He was third last time over two miles on the all-weather. He has some bits of form but most of it has been on an artificial surface.
