32 Players – $150K in prizes!
Coral’s Late Night Poker had 32 professional poker players battle it out over throughout four heats and one grand final. This provided plenty of opportunity for controversial moments, great talking points and entertaining hands.
The founding of the Hendon Mob!
Late Night Poker was also the arena where the Hendon Mob were formed – the group of popular professional poker players from London.
The group consisted of:
– Joe Beevers
– Barny Boatman
– Ross Boatman
– Ram Vaswani
Joe Beevers was, of course, the only man from the Hendon area. The name stuck though, and history was made. All through Coral’s Late Night Poker!
Revolutionary ‘under the table’ cameras!
It was the first programme to use ‘under-the-table’ cameras. This innovative idea added an extra dimension to poker broadcasting and in turn allowed poker to become a true spectator sport.
Basically, the players would place their cards on a glass panel and a camera would look at what they had. This allowed commentators more scope for what they could talk about, and in turn, created a much more entertaining programme.
Late Night Poker truly helped revolutionise poker coverage in the UK. To celebrate the impact this had on the poker world, we’ve collected all the best bits, plus full coverage of heats 1 to 5, all on one dedicated page.
Well, that’s pretty much everything you need to know about our awesome archive of amazing Late Night Poker clips. Why not head on over and check it out for yourself?!
Honestly, it’s some of the best poker you’ll ever see!
