Big Sam now evens for England job as gamble hots up

Published:

Sam Allardyce has been cut into evens (from 6-4) by leading bookmaker Coral to be the next permanent England manager after the gamble behind the Sunderland boss succeeding Roy Hodgson continues to pick up pace. Jurgen Klinsmann is second best in the betting at 5-2 to become the first German to manage the Three Lions, while Bournemouth’s Eddie Howe is available at 8-1 to get the job.

“We’ve seen a steady flow of money for Sam Allardyce becoming the next England manager ever since Roy Hodgson resigned, however, over the last couple of days there’s been a sustained gamble on Big Sam suggesting he could be the FA’s number one target for the job,” said Coral’s John Hill.
