Beverley bets: Muthmir to gun down rivals in Bullet Sprint Stakes

Another top Saturday racecard means there’s Beverley bets to be had at the Yorkshire course, and especially the Bullet Sprint Stakes. See what Coral tipsters like the look of…
Cash-in on Muthmir odds for Beverley Bullet Stakes
Muthmir can take advantage of a drop in class to get back to winnings ways in the Beverley Bullet Sprint Stakes (15.45).
The William Haggas trained six-year-old is a top class sprinter when on-song, as he showed when beating Take Cover by a head in last year’s Group 2 King George Stakes at Glorious Goodwood.
Muthmir was also far from disgraced when sixth to Mecca’s Angel in the Group 1 Nunthorpe Stakes at York and went on to round-off the campaign with an excellent third in the Group 1 Prix de l’Abbaye at Longchamp.
Those races represent very strong form in relation to this lower grade Listed contest, and the son of Invincible Spirit comes into it on the back of a solid 2 1/2 length sixth of 17 in the Group 2 King George Stakes at Goodwood.
This is by far the easiest assignment the selection has faced for some time, so the pick of his form sets a clear standard in this line-up, with Muthmir odds putting him a clear market leader.
Easterby is Mininggold at the moment
In the 5f handicap (15:45), Mininggold looks decent value to provide in-from trainer Tim Esaterby with another winner.
This filly scored twice as a juvenile and opened her account for the season when coming from off the pace to beat Ettien Gerard by 1 1/2 lengths over course and distance two weeks ago.
Mininggold was well on top at the finish and the runner-up has since come out and bolted up by three lengths at Leicester.
The third home Showbizzy has also gone on to taste success to give the form a strong look.
Although now 5lb higher in the weights, Mininggold’s revised mark of 68 does not look beyond her on the pick of her form and the rise is partly offset by the 3lb claim of very useful apprentice Rachel Richardson.
Burtonwood also among worthy Beverley bets
Burtonwood has posted some solid efforts this season and looks the answer to the 5f handicap (17:30).
The Julie Camacho trained gelding scored in good style over course and distance back in June off a mark of 64, and also ran blinder at the track three starts back when third off 68.
Burtonwood’s saddle slipped early in the latter and jockey Kieran Schofield also lost his irons with two furlongs to go.
It was to the four-year-old’s credit that he stayed on strongly to be beaten just 1 3/4 lengths, and it was a terrific effort given how the race panned out.
Burtonwood has since run very well to finish third in a competitive affair at Pontefract and his latest effort when seventh over course and distance can be forgiven as he got badly hampered at a crucial stage.
The son of Acclamation needs treating as if still in form and is now running off a mark just 2lb higher than when last victorious.
