We go into Wednesday’s round of domestic horse racing in high spirits, with our Tuesday NAP doing as expected off a handy 2/1. That will set us up nicely going forward, but there’s plenty more winning to be done.

Our Little Pony to improve
We waste no time, playing our strongest hand in the opener of an eight-race schedule at Beverley, Our Little Pony expected to grab the headlines. The talented two-year-old filly let punters, and ourselves, down when making her debut at Redcar earlier this month, ending second behind Popsi, despite going off as a short-price favourite.
It may not have been the result backers wanted, but there were promising signs from the effort, and she was noted sticking to her task at the business end of the race, going second in the final stages before keeping on to the post. With a more assured start, who knows what would’ve happened?
Selection easy to trust at the price
She was beaten just a short-head that day, so it won’t be a big ask to forgive her that silver, and we’re taking Richard Fahey’s hope to go and improve a place. There’s plenty of progress in the selection, and I’m confident we will see an example of it here, while she appears to have been given every chance to serve up a challenge.
I’m going to stick my neck on the line and say she should’ve won on debut, but with that behind her, and keeping the strong finish in mind, Our Little Pony is easy to back at an opening price of 2/1. This should be a competitive market before the off.
