Dowayla arrives in great form
The tape goes up on the first from Bath at 2.00pm and Lucky Clover is expected to live up to the name and get us off on the winning foot. The three-year-old filly arrives with a CV showing two wins and a second from five starts, including victory last time out at this very track.
Egan booking a positive
Running over a mile last month, she went off 5/2 favourite, and proved the market to be shrewd, beating Arctic Sea home by a length to delight followers. There was a lot to like about that performance, Dowayla dragging them along from the start, making all then finding more when challenged in the closing stages.
There was enough in that effort to suggest she has more to give and will handle the step up to 1m 2f. Was at her best that day, and despite being in with a better class of opponent on Wednesday, we make her more than capable of continuing her progress. She’s been hit with a 6lb rise for that win, but jockey David Egan should help sort that.
