Bet of the Day: Watford to pile on the misery for Everton
Published:Hornets head to Goodison Park
There are four Premier League fixtures to enjoy this Sunday, including Everton’s home game versus Watford.
Last season the Hornets tumbled down the table, while the Merseysiders sat comfortably in seventh.
But ahead of the game at Goodison Park, it’s the Toffees who sit in the bottom three, while Watford have been knocking on the doors of the top four.
Everton are simply lost right now. Ronald Koeman was sacked and caretaker boss David Unsworth has overseen three straight defeats.
The latest of which was a difficult Europa League trip to Lyon on Thursday. Watford are fresher, and will be out to make up for defeat to Stoke City a week ago.
Goals galore
Having scored 15 and conceded 18, Watford fans have seen 33 goals from their 10 games.
They’re certainly being entertained, and only Manchester City have seen more goals per game so far.
Everton’s desperation to find some goals – and a few points – today could leave them exposed at the back.
That will leave room for Watford’s quick and strong strikers, and provide an open, attacking contest.
Both teams to score is 4/5, while Watford to win and both teams to net (as has happened in the Hornets’ last two wins) is well-priced at 11/2.
A late twist
Watford have seen plenty of late drama this season, and usually it’s been to their benefit.
The Hertfordshire side snatched a last-gasp draw with Liverpool on the opening weekend, and a similarly late goal saw them defeat Arsenal last month.
Marco Silva has installed a never-say-die approach in the Hornets. The Draw/Watford Half-Time/Full-Time option appeals at 13/2 with Coral, while a plump 40/1 says Everton lead at the interval only for Watford to turn it around in the second period.
