Bet of the Day: Wales to get a crucial win against Georgia

Published:

Chris Coleman’s team can take a step towards Russia

Wales have a must-win game against Georgia on Friday evening. And they’ll be without their talisman Gareth Bale for it.

The Real Madrid forward suffered a calf injury in Champions League action against Borussia Dortmund. But Wales should still have enough to beat a Georgia side that’s without a win in Group D.

Georgia haven’t been whipping boys though. Vladimir Weiss’ side have drawn five of their eight games. Their biggest problem has been the lack of a cutting edge.

The onus is on Wales to win here, as they would then be guaranteed a place in the play-offs at least if they avoid defeat to the Republic of Ireland in their final qualifier.

The Coral experts are backing Wales to get the job done but think it could take a while for them to make the breakthrough. The Coral Bet of the Day is Wales to win and Under 2.5 Goals at 13/5.

Room for Ramsey

Chris Coleman will have to tweak his tactics to compensate for the loss of Gareth Bale’s speed and skill.

He could give more freedom to Aaron Ramsey as a result. The Arsenal midfielder has a knack of arriving in the box at the right time.

He’s scored two goals in Wales’ last three games. And he’s 12/5 to score Anytime at the Boris Paichadze Dinamo Arena.

Another Clean Sheet?

Wales have only conceded one goal in their four matches during 2017 so far, which came in the 1-1 draw away to group leaders Serbia.

They may need three points in Georgia, but they won’t leave themselves exposed at the back. You can back Wales to Win to Nil at 19/10.
