Vardy 6/1 to be named UEFA Man of the Match against Iceland
With England in the last 16 of Euro 2016, Coral’s bet of the day could not be on anything but the big event, as Roy Hodgson’s Three Lions face minnows Iceland in a Monday evening encounter.
England expects, and the odds reflect that, but there is excellent value to be had in some outside the box markets. So, our selection for this scuffle sees Three Lions forward Jamie Vardy priced at a plum 6/1 to be named UEFA Man of the Match.

Fox adds fight to Three Lions frontline
England are, of course, odds-on to oust outsiders Iceland from France, but at times the English attack has not be as in-sync as it could be.
There is so much potential in the Three Lions’ forward line, but Vardy has shown he is the pick of the bunch when it comes to stepping up to the plate.
With so much to his all-round game than he is given credit for, the Foxes frontman has clever movement in abundance and pace to burn. Once Iceland edge forward, he looks by far the most likely hitman to stretch their defence.
Gylfi Sigurdsson and co are lauded for having a stubborn rearguard but, in fact, Iceland have kept a clean sheet just twice in their past 13 fixtures, stats which should have vibrant Vardy licking his lips.
Vardy surpassing strike partners
The Fox in the box himself has taken to international football like a duck to water, equally effective whether starting or coming off the bench as a super sub, with four strikes in his six caps across 2016.
With Wayne Rooney shoehorned further back in midfield, and having notched only one goal in four this calendar year, Vardy is the man which the magic should come from.
By comparison, Vardy’s poaching peers are lagging behind, as Harry Kane has struck two in six in 2016, and Daniel Sturridge one in three.
With a taste for bagging in big games, having made the difference against Germany and the Netherlands, Vardy can also operate against trickier and more obstinate sides, as he showed in scoring displays against Turkey and Wales recently.
Though, it is not all down to goals, and England just look much more lively with Vardy on the pitch. Iceland will need unlocking, so back Vardy at 6/1 to be Man of the Match!
