Coral’s bet of the day

  • Mahrez was last to be on target for Leicester
  • Vardy scored three for the Foxes v Arsenal last season
  • Two of those goals came at the King Power
  • Leicester games against the Gunners saw 10 strikes in two last term
  • Leaky Arsenal are ripe to be exploited at the back

Vardy and Mahrez an 8/1 anytime scorer double for Foxes v Arsenal

Friday Night Football got matchweek two of the 2016/17 Premier League season off to a flying start, but it is the televised tussle between last term’s top two Leicester City and Arsenal that catches the eye for Coral’s Saturday bet of the day.

We’ve got something special up our sleeve for this teatime encounter, with enhanced odds of 8/1 available for a Jamie Vardy and Riyad Mahrez anytime scorer double.

That’s right, you can back both of the Foxes’ star forwards to bag at the King Power against a suspect Arsenal defence. What’s not to like? Read on to find out why we think this cracker from Coral can come off…

Gunners can be got at

If there’s a team to play perfectly into Claudio Ranieri’s counter attacking plan then it is possession hoggers Arsenal, who arguably have little choice but to go for the jugular as they have only a fragile defence to fall back on.

Laurent Koscielny could be risked despite only recently returning to training, but the Frenchman will not be partnered, if he starts, by either injured Gabriel Paulista or Per Mertesacker.

As Liverpool were able to show last time, the Gunners can be exploited both on the break and set-pieces, as the Reds struck four past Arsene Wenger’s inexperienced backline.

Leicester, then, will be licking their lips at the prospect of picking off the Londoners at the King Power Stadium, where they were victorious last season.

Recent games between Arsenal and the Foxes have been high scoring, with 10 notched in two meetings last term, so expect goals again.

Ranieri’s go to men for goals still look like being Premier League Golden Boot runner-up Vardy and PFA Player of the Year Mahrez, which makes them a perfect partnership for this dangerman double.

Boosted by penning a new deal, magician Mahrez was the last to score for Leicester against Hull City, while Vardy loves scoring against Arsenal as he dispatched three past them last campaign. So, snatch that awesome 8/1 now.
