Coral’s bet of the day

  • Tottenham are undefeated at White Hart Lane in the Premier League
  • Spurs have also not lost a league game since the opening day
  • West Ham have scored in six of their last seven against Spurs
  • The Hammers have struck in 11 of their 12 league outings so far

Tottenham 9/4 to defeat West Ham United with both teams to score (max stake £20)

Sunday’s Premier League installment is a capital clash between Tottenham and West Ham United, with Coral’s bet of the day featuring Spurs in a marvellous match special to win and both teams to score at a nifty price of 9/4 (with a maximum stake of £20).

Tottenham have quietly gone about their business this campaign and currently sit comfortably fifth in the Premier League, with talk of a top four challenge. The north London outfit hold a head-to-head record of 60 victories to 47 against the Hammers, and will expect to extend that at White Hart Lane.

Pochettino approach paying off

As Mauricio Pochettino continues his second season in the Spurs dugout, the puzzle pieces are finally beginning to fit, with a strong spine stretching from Hugo Lloris in net to Belgian centre back pair Toby Alderweireld and Jan Vertonghen, all the way to Harry Kane up top.

This is reflected by the hosts’ fantastic White Hart Lane record, as Tottenham are undefeated on home turf in the Premier League so far this term and have not lost a top-tier tussle since their opening day defeat. That’s a run of 11 games without a loss. Impressive.

Bilic’s boys up for the big games

Of course, West Ham sit sixth just behind their upcoming opponents in the standings and have enjoyed their own excellent start to the season under Slaven Bilic.

The Croatian coach has got the Hammers firing on all attacking cylinders, with his side having hit the target in all but one of their 12 league games. West Ham have also already snatched points from the likes of Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester City, proving they have an appetite for the big games.

Yet, despite their poaching prowess, the exciting east Londoners have not managed to keep a clean sheet in any of their last eight outings across all competitions. This could certainly prove their undoing across the capital then, with the Hammers having conceded three in their last two games, both of which they failed to win.

Though, as the guests have scored in six of their last seven meetings with Spurs, this match looks great value for goals on both sides, with home advantage to see the sturdier hosts safe.
