Bet of the Day: Republic of Ireland to draw again

Opponents Serbia are tough to beat

It’s been 15 years since the Republic of Ireland’s last appearance at the World Cup. If they beat Serbia tonight, qualification for next year’s tournament would be within reach.

Ireland are currently second in Group D, two points behind Serbia. A win would put them a point clear at the top with just two games left to play.

Martin O’Neill’s side should fancy their chances. They haven’t lost a competitive game at home since September 2013.

Ireland have struggled to punish teams though. All three of their last qualifiers have ended in a draw.

The Coral News experts think this one could end in a stalemate too. Today’s Bet of the Day is a Draw and Both Teams to Score at 7/2.

Not Too Many Goals

There have only been 14 goals in Ireland’s seven qualifiers so far. There might not be too many in this one either.

This game could go a long way to determining who finishes top of the group. And it’s likely to be very tight.

They could be value in backing a Draw and Under 2.5 Goals at 12/5 here.

Play It Safe?

Serbia can call on reliable figues such as Nemanja Matic, Dusan Tadic and Branislav Ivanovic. However, their main striker is the erratic Aleksandar Mitrovic.

The visitors are a good side, but the Boys in Green will be confident of handling their attack. Backing Ireland in the Double Chance market at 4/9 could be a smart move.

Ireland have an impressive home record and you’ll be covered if they win or draw.
