  • The Portugal skipper will look to open his tournament account
  • Ronaldo scored an incredible 51 goals in 50 outings in the past season

Ronaldo 5/2 to open scoring for Portugal

Coral’s latest bet of the day features a fantastic 5/2 on Portugal skipper Cristiano Ronaldo opening the scoring against Austria in their second Euro 2016 Group F outing, after being frustratingly held to a 1-1 draw with a gritty Iceland.

The Real Madrid superstar lashed out at the Icelandic nation’s supposed negative tactics and their joyful celebrations in the wake of that opening stalemate, but faced a backlash over his comments which were made after failing to convert any of his several chances during proceedings.

Although, Los Blancos’ main marksman is sure to be firing on all cylinders this time out as he aims to banish that opening result and fire the Portuguese towards the knockout stages on French soil.

Austria to face Ronaldo backlash

The Austrians had been stunned by Hungary in their opener, losing out 2-0 while also having defender Aleksandar Dragovic dismissed, and they could face a daunting backlash from a scorned Portugal captain Ronaldo.

All-time scorer for club ad country, rampant Ronaldo will look to rediscover his clinical eye for goal this time around, following a season in which he fired in an incredible 51 times 50 outings before Euro 2016.

Among those successful scoring appearances for the Portuguese ace, Ronaldo was on target first on 13 occasions, a superb record which he looks more than capable of continuing in France for his country in his second group outing.

With such a promising record and desire to bounce back from his opening fixture disappointing, odds of 5/2 on Ronaldo tucking home the opener for Portugal against Austria are well worth a punt this weekend!
