Coral’s bet of the day

  • Italy’s Pelle has struck five times in 12 international caps
  • The Southampton striker was the only one on target last time out for the Azzurri
  • Pelle has poached 30 goals for the Saints across the last two campaigns in all comps
  • The Italians have won 10 of 12 previous contests versus Finland

Pelle 10/3 to be on target first against Finland

It’s merely a fantastic four days until Euro 2016 kicks off, and Coral are helping customers celebrate the countdown to the coveted continental competition with some cracking odds.

Always tournament shouts Italy are yet to finish their warm-up for France, so the Azzurri’s friendly fixture against Finland on Monday night is our featured flutter for bet of the day, with tremendous 10/3 odds for Graziano Pelle to grab the opening goal.

Antonio Conte’s contingent are seeking to better their second place finish at Euro 2012, with Finland their final preparation fixture. So, read on to see why we think Italy and Southampton leading man Pelle is worth a punt at that plum price…

Predator Pelle to take centre stage

Conte and co will be able to take confidence from their record of historical head-to-head dominance against the Finns, as Italy have run out winners in 10 of their 12 previous encounters, losing only once.

With that in mind, the Azzurri should be attempting to flex their attacking muscles, with Southampton sharpshooter Pelle the focal point of forward thrust and the star striker in Conte’s squad.

Since arriving on English shores, Pelle has poached 30 goals in all competitions for Saints across two seasons, performances which have propelled the 30-year-old to the forefront of his national team.

All-round frontman Pelle has now notched five times in 12 caps, including the sole strike last time out as Italy faced stubborn Scotland in Malta.

Previous scoring scalps at international level for Pelle include the likes of England and Norway, with four of his five for the Azzurri opening goals and the same number winning strikes.

So, backing Italy’s main marksman Pelle to fire in first versus Finland looks fantastic value at 10/3. Don’t miss out!
