Coral’s bet of the day

  • Valencia have scored 10 in their past four Copa del Rey clashes
  • The Bats conceded just once in those same battles
  • Gary Neville’s guys have lost just one of their last seven in all competitions
  • Alvaro Negredo has hit five in his previous six games

Negredo to net and Valencia to win in 90 mins at 4/1 (max stake £20)

Gary Neville’s Valencia adventures star in today’s bet of the day, as the Bats battle La Liga minnows Las Palmas in a Copa del Rey quarter-final second leg. Former Manchester City marksman Alvaro Negredo has been in fierce form of late, so the forward here is offered at an exceptional 4/1 to score and help Valencia to win in 90 minutes (maximum stake of £20).

Manchester United legend and former defender Neville has seen his Bats beaten just three times in 12 games since he officially took over the managerial mantle in December, with his best results occurring in the Copa del Rey, where Valencia have scored 10 in their past four fixtures.

Now, Neville has told press he will be treating this quarters clash as a final: “It’s a final, it’s a game we’ve got to go and win and we’ve got to be positive to score goals.”

In a boost, the Bats have not lost any of their six previous scuffles with Los Amarillos, and the Canary Island club are also without a win in three across all competitions, as they sit 18th in La Liga.

Valencia goal threats vying for spots

Before tonight’s tussle, boss Neville also told media of the return to fitness of a few important players, stating: “We have no excuses and the only two players we have missing at this moment is Javi Fuego and Paco [Alcacer].

“Enzo Perez and [Sofiane] Feghouli coming back is a positive, we hope that Sofiane can be part of the squad for Las Palmas.”

If fit, Algeria international Feghouli’s creativity should add an extra dimension to the Spanish giants, though ex-Sevilla, Real Madrid and Man City striker Negredo will be the main net threat.

The Spanish sharpshooter has found the target five times in his last six matches, proving to be a consistent game-changer under Neville, while he has an equally impressive record of four in as many Copa del Rey matches this term.

So, as Neville chases his first semi-final with Valencia and a chance at silverware, backing the big guns at 4/1 to win and leading man Negredo to net in normal time looks terrific value.
