NAP arrives in good form
Followers of our NAP are waiting it out until 3.50pm, when a 10-runner handicap is decided over the mile trip. Traders are keen to keep Lamloom close, pricing him up as a solid favourite, and we make that a shrewd call. The three-year-old arrives with confidence onside, having finally got off the mark last time out at this very track.
That success would’ve come as no surprise to those who had been keeping a close eye on David O’Meara’s rep, as he was runner up at Ayr the start before, beaten by odds-on favourite Born To Be Alive on that occasion. The hard work finally paid off last month when banking the prize money in convincing fashion, and at a decent price too, upsetting 11/8 fav Liquid Gold.
O’Meara is easy to trust
That was a decent enough race to be winning, and now making his handicap bow, we’re taking him to go in again. The improving colt had Daniel Tudhope in the saddle that day, and the jockey returns, which will rate as a positive for those happy to follow us in on the NAP. He’s fit and looks to have been given every chance to continue his steady recent form.
Followers of the stats will remind us that O’Meara has a good reputation for getting the desired result from runners on their handicap debut, and Coral’s 9/4 about Lamloom is very easy to back. The recent wet weather means we can rule out a few of the leading contenders.
