Man Utd’s Pogba to score from outside the box

Saturday brings punters a slew of superb Premier League games to place a weekend wager on but, for Coral’s latest bet of the day pick, we’ve selected Manchester United’s teatime tussle with Hull City, where Paul Pogba is set to star.

As Jose Mourinho’s men head to the KC Stadium to take on former Red Devils assistant and now Tigers caretaker coach Mike Phelan, there are tasty odds of 14/1 for Man Utd’s Pogba to score from outside the box.

So, if it’s a Pogba punt you fancy, you can’t go wrong at that price. Read on to see our reasons for highlighting this as our best bet of the day…

Pogba prolific with potshots

Think of Pogba as a player and, aside from sublime skill and physical presence, it’s stunning long-range strikes that might just pop into your mind.

The former Juventus dynamo has a highlight reel of potent potshots from distance, but he also has stats to back him up. As per WhoScored in early August, only one other player in Serie A across the last three seasons scored more from outside the box than Pogba.

That player was set-piece threat Miralem Pjanic with 11, while Pogba was just one behind on an impressive 10.

Remember this one?

Pogba’s ability to add threat outside of the area should give Man Utd a new dimension against Hull, who may prove hard to break down.

In October of last season, the Red Devils, then managed by possession obsessed Louis van Gaal, became the only club yet to score a goal from outside the box in 2015, but all that is changing quickly.

Just one match into Mourinho’s reign and the Mancunian club’s play already looked more direct and varied, with Zlatan Ibrahimovic opening his PL account with a long-range goal against Bournemouth. With Pogba’s prowess added to the mix there should be plenty more of that.

So, after impressing on his second Old Trafford debut, back Man Utd’s Pogba to score from outside the box at a sweet 14/1.
