Three top bets for the FA Cup
The FA Cup continues apace this evening as Huddersfield Town host Manchester United at the John Smith’s Stadium.
Jose Mourinho’s side came unstuck in West Yorkshire three months ago when goals from Aaron Mooy and Laurent Depoitre condemned the Red Devils to a 2-1 defeat.
Since then, United have picked up 16 victories in league and cup. Huddersfield, by contrast, have won five times and suffered 11 defeats.
The visitors’ good form has been in part down to the performances of Jesse Lingard. The 25-year-old has bagged 12 goals in all competitions so far this season.
His record in cup competitions has been particularly impressive. Lingard has netted two goals in two appearances in the FA Cup and three goals in three appearances in the League Cup.
The Coral News Team think that the England ace will be on target again against the Terriers, who tend to make wholesale changes in cup competitions.
United to keep it clean
Man United and Huddersfield last went head-to-head two weeks ago. The Red Devils prevailed 2-0 on that occasion. David Wagner’s side failed to record a single shot on target at Old Trafford.
With the Terriers’ priorities lying elsewhere, the Coral News Team see a similar dynamic playing out this evening.
Repeat performance expected?
Since the turn of the year, Mourinho’s men have developed a habit of winning matches by a 2-0 scoreline. United have claimed victory by that margin three times so far in 2018.
Those successes came against Derby County in the FA Cup and against Huddersfield and Everton in the league.
United are likely to keep it tight against Town. They have the quality to get through even if they opt to rest one or two key players. All of those factors point towards another narrow, but comfortable Red Devils victory.
