Hosts should have enough for another three points

The Faroe Islands are slowly becoming a nation to be wary of in World Cup Qualifying.

The minnows beat Greece home and away in the Euro 2016 qualifying process. And they’ve collected an impressive eight points from this campaign. Latvia by contrast have lost their last nine games in all competitions.

At home only Switzerland and Portugal have come away with all three points on their trip to the islands. The Faroes drew with Hungary at the start of qualifying and beat Andorra last time out courtesy of a Gilli Sorensen goal.

Against Latvia the tiny nation are favourably priced to pick up another three points. They’re above their opponents in Group B and beat them 2-0 a year ago today with an assured performance in Riga.

For that reason the Coral Bet of the Day is the Faroe Islands to beat Latvia at 33/20.

The home side should keep it tight

Given Latvia’s recent form they shouldn’t cause the hosts too many problems in front of goal. Both sides will be looking to edge a win, although three goals scored in nine straight defeats doesn’t bode well for the visitors.

As a result the Coral News Team think it’s worth doubling up on a Faroese victory. It’s 10/3 for a Faroe Islands win and Under 2.5 Goals.

Faroese to strike early

When the Faroese win they tend to do the damage before half-time. In their last four victories they’ve been leading at half-time before seeing the game out in the second-half.

Against a poor Latvia side that run should continue. Coral go 9/2 on Faroe Islands Half Time/Full Time.
