Bet of the Day: Deportivo La Coruna to see off struggling Girona
Published:Depor the form side ahead of this clash
After a difficult start to the season, Deportivo La Coruna have turned a corner. Pepe Mel’s side have taken seven points from their last four games, and are on course for another three when Girona visit on Monday night.
Blanquivermell have taken just two points from their previous six league games. Their last game was a home defeat to mid-table Villarreal, who were 2-0 up inside 20 minutes at the Montilivi.
Things are unlikely to improve for them at Deportivo’s Riazor. Girona have managed a solitary point from their previous three visits to this venue, suffering a 5-1 mauling back in 2011.
That all points to a home victory. Coral’s Bet of the Day is Deportivo La Coruna to Win at Evens.
Hosts can win goal-filled affair in Galicia
Deportivo’s last eight home games have seen three or more goals scored on six occasions, including a 2-1 victory over Getafe in their most recent game at Riazor.
As for their visitors, Girona were recently involved in a thrilling 3-3 draw at Celta de Vigo, while their most recent league match was a 2-1 defeat to the Yellow Submarine.
The previous three occasions where Riazor has hosted this fixture has also seen Depor enjoy a 3-2 victory and 5-1 rout of Girona. Another high-scoring triumph for Mel’s men looks good value, with Deportivo to Win and Both Teams to Score priced up at 16/5.
Entertaining opening period on the cards
The Coral News Team continue on the theme of goals, and the best value of all could be on both sides registering before the break.
Three of Depor’s eight outings this term have seen both sides score in the opening period. Meanwhile, Girona’s last two matches have been 2-2 and 1-2 at Half-Time, with Blanquivermell conceding in the opening 10 minutes on each occasion.
That flurry of goals in the first 45 minutes means Both Teams to Score in First Half looks generously priced at 4/1.
