Bet of the Day: Cross to be King of the oche v Van Barneveld
Published:Voltage has been in good form of late
Rob Cross has enjoyed an incredible debut year on the PDC circuit.
The 27-year-old former electrician has won four Players Championship events and reached the final of his first major competition last month. That kind of form is unheard of for a PDC rookie in his maiden season.
Up against Raymond van Barneveld in the second round tonight, Cross is expected to continue that form. In the group stage, the Pembury-born star averaged 103.87, 104.70 and 105.67 in his three games. Barney, by contrast, has yet to break the 100 average mark in the competition and has lost both of his previous games against tonight’s opponent.
For that reason, the Coral News Team are backing Cross to maintain his excellent recent form. Thursday’s Bet of the Day is Rob Cross to be King of the Oche (Win Match, Most 180s and Highest Checkout) at 11/4.
Back a 180-fest in Wolverhampton
These are two players who like to score. Cross and Van Barneveld are both know as big 180 hitters and over the extended best of 19 legs format, there should be fireworks.
The pair shared 11 180s in their combined six group matches. In a game that could well go the distance, the T20 bed should be peppered with maximums. It’s 5/6 for there to be Over 9.5 180s in the match.
Cross to be the star of the show
Cross secured his place in the knockout round with an incredible 164 finish in the final leg of a 5-2 victory over Ross Montgomery. Alongside his power scoring, Voltage has an impressive capacity to take out big numbers when it matters.
With all of that in his locker it makes sense to get on Cross to hit 6+ 180s, checkout 117+ and win the match at 9/2 in Match Specials market.
