Bet of the Day: Betis to make it tough for visitors Real Madrid

Published:
Andres Guardado - Real Betis

Beticos won 1-0 at the Bernabeu in September

Real Betis are on course for a stellar season, with Quique Setien’s side sitting seventh in La Liga. Having won four of the last six games, they’ll have no fear when Real Madrid visit on Sunday – especially considering the sides’ Head-to-Head record.

Beticos won the last meeting 1-0, with a last-gasp winner from Antonio Sanabria. Of the last four meetings, Madrid have won two, with the other a 1-1 draw. But even Los Blancos’  last victory over Betis came courtesy of a late winner against 10 men.

With Zinedine Zidane’s side also having played an all-action game against Paris Saint-Germain in midweek, the hosts are also likely to be fresher ahead of this game. Coral’s Bet of the Day is Real Betis +2 at Evens.

Goals likely to flow after the break

Betis are one of Europe’s most exciting sides this season. Their 23 league games have produced an enormous 83 goals (or 3.6 per game) so far. They’ve scored 38 of those, conceding 45.

Their games have been especially thrilling in the second period. Four of their last six matches have seen both sides register after the break – and Both Teams to Score in Second Half at 6/5 looks a good call.

Three of those six matches have seen four or more goals scored in the second period, including the recent 3-2 loss at Celta Vigo. Second Half: Over 3.5 Goals could also be worth a flutter at 29/10.

Value on both sides in Goalscorer markets

While Betis have shared the goals around the team, forward Sergio Leon is their top marksman this season. The 29-year-old has scored in three of the last eight games, and scored in his only previous meeting with Los Blancos – for former club Elche.

Leon to Score Anytime at 10/3 could prove a smart call – but we’re going with a less obvious name for Madrid’s potential goal-getter.

Marcelo found the net at Estadio Benito Villamarin last season, and the defender has been potent in front of goal lately – registering in two of his last four games. The Brazilian is 7/1 to Score Anytime for the visitors.
