Coral’s bet of the day

  • Barcelona won 2-1 nine times last term
  • Ranieri may field weakened team
  • Barca boys possess unmatched firepower

Barca fantastic 15/2 to triumph 2-1

After a shock Premier League triumph, Claudio Ranieri will look to build upon Leicester City’s success, but face exceptional opposition in the form of Barcelona.

Barca recorded nine victories 2-1, and was their most common result last year – Luis Enrique’s outfit are 15/2 to emulate the score again against their International Champions Cup opponents Foxes.

Luis Suarez and Lionel Messi, who scored 100 goals between them in all competitions last term, look likely to play a significant amount of minutes against the East Midlands club, alongside new signings Lucas Digne and France centre back Samuel Umtiti. On the other hand, Foxes could field a weakened line-up in preparation for their Community Shield clash with Manchester United.

Leicester haven’t had the best of pre-seasons, being embarrassed 4-0 against French champions PSG and now face tough test against Catalan club Barca in Stockholm.

Enrique outfit to oust Foxes

Barcelona are coming off the back of a routine 3-1 win over Scottish champions Celtic, a performance in which they never really broke sweat. Against improved opposition, expect the Spanish giants to shift gear and canter to another victory.

However, don’t expect Foxes to roll over, their fast, ferocious forward line will test Enrique’s defence on the break. Leicester’s record signing Ahmed Musa, will look to forge a formidable partnership with Jamie Vardy, and scored 18 goals last term for Russian champions CSKA Moscow.

Leicester only failed to get on the scoresheet three times in the entirety of last season, so expect the Premier League champions to net in a Barca win.

The Catalan club also possess Arda Turan who has impressed this summer, netting a wonderful strike against Celtic.
