Bet of the Day: Back Arsenal to keep up the good form v Southampton
Published:Gunners have been playing well
Super Sunday is all about the double derby on Merseyside and Manchester.
But there’s another Premier League clash in store as Arsenal head to Southampton.
The Gunners were left utterly perplexed at how they didn’t get something from their 3-1 defeat to Manchester United a week ago.
They had 75% possession and posted 33 shots at David de Gea.
Play like that again though and they’ll have little problem versus the Saints. Coral’s Bet of the Day is Arsenal to beat Southampton at 10/11.
Gunners to fire on all cylinders
Arsene Wenger’s men really were very good for the most part against Man United, and the Frenchman will ensure his side took the positives from last week’s loss.
Southampton don’t offer much of a threat, and their own brand of football is likely to allow Arsenal to come out and play.
The Saints have won just one of their last six games, and that was versus a managerless and despondent Everton.
Only Liverpool and the Manchester duo have scored more goals than Arsenal after 15 games of this campaign, so the Gunners on the -1 handicap appeals with Coral at 5/2.
A slow starter
Don’t expect much action in the opening 45 minutes though.
Arsenal’s have scored just two away goals in the first-half this season. Southampton have only done so on three occasions at St Mary’s.
The Draw/Arsenal Half-Time/Full-Time looks good at 19/5, while 23/20 says the opening period ends all-square.
