Coral’s bet of the day

  • Arsenal could welcome back Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez
  • Premier League leaders the Gunners are in-form at the Emirates
  • Chelsea have conceded scored five in their last two games

Arsenal 7/2 to defeat Chelsea and both teams net

As Premier League title challengers Arsenal prepare to host current champions Chelsea, with the Gunners buoyed by the expected double boost of Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez returning, Coral present a brilliant bet of the day for the big Sunday battle.

Out of all this weekend’s wagers, Arsenal excite most in a match special at 7/2 to beat the Blues but both teams to be on target, with a maximum stake of £20. Here’s why we think this is the one worth a dabble…

Arsenal attack too much for Chelsea

As hosts, the Gunners should go all out against a Blues backline which has looked surprisingly shambolic this season, notably after Arsene Wenger pinched post protector Petr Cech from their grasp.

Chelsea have conceded a whopping 34 league goals already, with five leaked in their last two games alone. In addition, they face an in-form Arsenal attack which has drawn just two blanks when at the Emirates all term.

In this capital clash, the Premier League leaders should also be reinforced up front by the return from injury of two crucial players. Midfield magician and assist-maker Ozil was missing last time out, but Wenger told press ahead of the match: “The good news is that Ozil certainly will be available.”

While, inspirational Sanchez could also add spark, with the French coach adding: “For Sanchez the next two days will be decisive, but I think this time he will make it to be available for selection. The signs he showed in training this week have been positive.”

Even minus the electric Chile international, Arsenal boast more than enough potency to take the spoils in north London, against a Chelsea team in the bottom half of the table, with frontman Olivier Giroud and Welsh wizard Aaron Ramsey also potent of late.

Blues still have ability

As Liverpool showed recently, however, the Gunners’ gung-ho approach can result in goals conceded as well as scored, and Chelsea will expect to dent Arsenal’s ascent at the Emirates.

Guus Hiddink’s guys have revived their nose for goal, and have also scored five in their previous two outings with Diego Costa dangerous once more, so odds of 7/2 (max stake £20) for Arsenal to triumph and both teams to score is enticing.
