Arsene Wenger cut to 6-1 to get England job

Arsene Wenger has been cut into 6-1 (from 14-1) to be the next permanent England manager following a gamble on the Frenchman in the last 24 hours. Gareth Southgate, who will be in charge of the national team for the next four games, remains the 6-4 favourite to get the job on a permanent basis, while Steve Bruce is second best in the betting at 4-1.

“Arsene Wenger’s contract is up at Arsenal at the end of the season and without a negotiated extension to his current deal, a lot of punters feel he will be the man England will target as Sam Allardyce’s replacement, forcing us to slash his odds in the last 24 hours,” said Coral’s John Hill.

6-4 Gareth Southgate, 4 Steve Bruce, 6 (from 14) Arsene Wenger, 8 Glen Hoddle, 10 Eddie Howe, 12 Alan Pardew, 16 Jurgen Klinsmann, 20 Bar
