Arsenal to take plunge for Bathtubs defence midfielder Krychowiak

Premier League 2015/16 joint-third favourites Arsenal (5/1 with Coral) are reportedly tracking Sevilla’s star midfielder Grzegorz Krychowiak as they look to bolster up their squad in search of a first top-flight title since 2004.
However, the Gunners will have to battle with old rivals Manchester United (also 5/1 chances) for the Poland international’s signature, who is said to have a release clause of £21m.
Krychowiak is a defensive midfielder, and played a big part in Sevilla’s Europa League trophy success last season, so is understandably in-demand.
His price of £21m is also more enticing than Southampton’s demand of at least £25m for Morgan Schneiderlin, who is also a target for the Red Devils.
Krychowiak only signed for the Bathtubs at the beginning of last season for just €4.5 million, and the club, who will play in the Champions League next term, could be tempted to sell to make a very large profit in just a year.
The 25-year-old played the rest of his senior career in France, with the likes of Bordeaux and Reims, as well as Nantes on loan, after moving to the country as a teenager.
If he were to join the Gunners, Krychowiak would be the third Polish first-team player in the squad, after keeper Wojciech Szczesny and up-and-coming teenager Krystian Bielik. France centre back Laurent Koscielny also has heritage from the country.
The likes of Mathieu Flamini, Abou Diaby, Mikel Arteta, Jack Wilshere and Francis Coquelin can currently player in Krychowiak’s position at Arsenal, although arguably only the latter has impressed recently.
Arsene Wenger has certainly been looking to improve that area of the pitch in his side, and Krychowiak would be a welcome addition as he looks to gain more silverware, following the Gunners’ defence of the FA Cup this season.
Arsenal finished in third place in the Premier League this term, thus qualifying for the Champions League group stages again, and you can back them at 25/1 to go all the way and lift their first European Cup.
