Coral ambassador previews Thursday’s rides at Glorious Goodwood
Maqsad ran a super race in the Oaks at Epsom at the end of May but just didn’t quite get home and ended up finishing further back than she probably deserved. Although down the field she just didn’t quite get the trip.
Her form in the previous two runs at Newmarket was excellent with wins over shorter trips and moving back down in distance will suit us a lot here.
She could have ran since and Ascot was an option but William Haggas has waited for this race. She has been given plenty of time to recover and we go into this race in great shape with it having been the target for a while now.
There are some other strong horses in the race but if she runs to her level of ability we will be right there at the finish.
I haven’t ridden this horse before but his form has worked out very well and I am looking forward to the ride. Despite being beaten last time at Brighton the horse who beat him went and won nicely next time out and the third has also got his head in front since.
That form gives me real confidence that he has bags of ability and if everything goes right we will certainly have an each-way chance.
This is Moondance’s first time out and it looks a hot race with some very interesting two years old runners.
A bit more rain looks like it would be in our favour and whilst it will be a tough ask first time to win but you never know and it will be exciting to see how he goes on debut.
Dancing Warrior has been off the track a while and definitely needed his two runs back at Sandown in the spring and Windsor a week or so ago. Those two runs should have tuned him up back to where he was last year, running promisingly at Goodwood and also getting a win at Chepstow.
We are drawn right on the rail and if we can get off to a fast start over the short trip we will definitely have an each-way chance.
